The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Laboratory offers an internship program specific to the Forensic Biology Section and the Latent Print Section. The Latent Print Processing Technician Program accepts applicants on an annual basis. Upon successful completion of their training, the technicians will be qualified to process evidence for the presence of latent impressions.  The Forensic Biology Internship program accepts applicantions on a bi-annual basis, and upon successful completion of their training, the Interns will be qualified to process evidence for the presence of biological fluids.

  • Requirements: Upper division students or graduates in Forensic Science, Criminalistics, Chemistry, Biology, or related field. Each selected candidate must pass a background check.
  • Duration: One year
  • Hours: Minimum of 16 hours per week
