Negotiations with SEIU, the non-sworn Law Enforcement Unit of DSA, SMCCE and AFSCME have all concluded! Both the County and these four bargaining teams worked diligently to develop agreements that are fair -- maintaining the County’s fiscal stability while providing additional pay and benefits to County workers.
Some of the significant changes include:

  •  Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) and Equity increase for all represented employees
  •  Increased Longevity Pay
  •  Single Tier Bilingual Pay increased to $70 biweekly
  •  Increased Bereavement Leave hours and expanded qualified relations
  •  Some bargaining groups received increased vacation accruals and 16 hours of paid time off during the winter holidays.

We have begun negotiations with BCTC, UAPD, PDA and the Extra Help agreement with AFSCME and SEIU.
