HR represented the County of San Mateo at the Santa Clara University Diversity Works Awards and Career Expo held on February 20th. The three-part event included: a contest where students were asked to develop “elevator speeches” to share their experiences with diversity, how they have overcome adversity, and how their identities have shaped their career development; a Diversity and Inclusion Industry Panel consisting of three working professionals sharing their experiences of diversity and inclusion in the workplace; and a career fair with more than 40 employers that feature diversity and inclusion in their companies. EEO Manager Michelle Park served as one of three panel members, where she had the opportunity to discuss the County’s Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, the newly adopted Transgender Policy, the Lactation Accommodation Resolution, and other County efforts to make the workplace more inclusive.  The Talent Acquisition Division continued the outreach efforts by also attending the Social Impact and Education Fair at Stanford University on February 26th
