It’s back! The Wellness Dividends program returns in 2017 with a few new enhancements, including an increase in the dividend amount.
With the New Year upon us, what better time than to commit to a healthier lifestyle while receiving some extra cash for holiday shopping. This year, we’re excited to double the dividend amount, from $250 in 2016 to $500 in 2017!
This voluntary program is strictly confidential and was developed and endorsed by the labor-management Benefits Committee in 2016. The committee recognizes that a healthier workforce is a key part of keeping our health care costs as low as possible.
For two more years, the annual dividend is dependent on the County’s overall health care experience. When the County’s premium increases are much lower than average, it results in a bigger Wellness Dividend to you.
So for this year only, when you complete your Wellness Screening and online health assessment by the end of June, you will receive a $500 Wellness Dividend in one lump-sum payment on your November 10th paycheck. Future years may be the same or may be less.
Benefits-eligible County and Court employees who belong to one of the County Kaiser or Blue Shield health plans as of June 1, 2017 (either as a primary subscriber or as a dependent of an employee) are eligible for a Wellness Dividend. See if you are eligible.
To Receive Your Wellness Dividend:
Step 1: Complete your Wellness Screening appointment by June 30, 2017.
Choose from three options...
Option 1: Participate in an onsite Wellness Screening at one of the many County worksite locations on County time with supervisor approval, OR...
Option 2: See your physician or health care provider to complete your Wellness Screening on personal time. If you choose this option, please do not schedule a County Wellness Screening.
Option 3: Schedule an appointment directly with BaySport, the Wellness Screening vendor, to complete your screening at their Redwood Shores office. Their staff can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or 650-779-4315.
Step 2: Complete the online health assessment on your health plan's website by June 30, 2017.
Kaiser members: Healthworks Total Health Assessment (THA)
Blue Shield members: Wellvolution's Well-Being Tracker (WBT)
Receive your $500 Wellness Dividend in time for your holiday shopping!
You will receive your Wellness Dividend in one lump-sum payment on your November 10th paycheck. To confirm that you completed Steps 1 and 2, log into your Workday account in early August 2017 or later to verify that your participation in Steps 1 and 2 is correct and complete.
