This year’s tournament proved to be one of the most competitive in the event’s history as 3 teams tied for 1st place and 2 teams tied for 4th place in the competitive division.  This rare scenario required team captains to agree on a combination of tiebreakers to determine the top 4 seeds.  In the end, round robin point differential, head to head and a 1 inning playoff were all used.

Once determined, the top four teams played. Loopholes beat Hittin’ It 13 - 1, and 10-8 at the Plate beat Alphas on Deck 16 - 9 in the semi-finals.  Loopholes beat 10-8 at the Plate16 – 9 in the championship game to become overall tournament champions.

In the recreation division, Superhuman Resources was the only team in the tournament to go undefeated (5-0) during the round robin games.  Unfortunately they weren’t able to translate that success to the semi-final playoff, losing to the Road Warriors 5 – 2.  The other semi-final was a nail biter as Pinkees beat the MTU Sluggers 11 – 10.  Pinkees then played the Road Warriors in the championship game and outlasted them 17 – 16 in an exciting game!

CONGRATULATIONS to all teams!

A special thanks to the team captains who made this event possible:   Jeff Weaver & William Ikeda (Loopholes), Jennifer Armstrong (Pinkees), Edwin Alvarez, (Superhuman Resources), Fred Ponce & Jose Robles (Road Warriors), Michelle LeVynh (Tiger Bombs), Ty Kang & Mike Garibaldi (Still Us), William Barries & Alex Mejia (Spartans), Mike Panisi & Max Koenigsberg (Usual Suspects), Lupe Gutierrez & Brenda Macedo (99 Problems but a Pitch Ain’t One), Adela Ruiz & Donna Nuno (North County Bombers), Greg Chong & Zachary Felise (10-8 At the Plate), Rosemarie Santos (Hittin’ It), Harry Louie (MTU Sluggers),  Gordon Tong (Sustainability), Darrell Cullen (Mighty Fleas),  Tony Takapu & Longo Panisi (Alphas on Deck).
