The County of San Mateo has partnerships in offering accessible, accelerated and diverse degree programs with neighboring colleges to meet the unique needs of working adults. These opportunities, along with the multitude of colleges and universities in the Bay Area, give San Mateo County employees the opportunity to select a program that will meet their own academic goals. These partnerships include:

California State University, East Bay offers degree programs, including Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Public Administration. Golden Gate University offers Bachelor's and Master's degrees, as well as online courses that cater to the needs of working adults. Menlo College Professional Studies Program offers a 30% discount to County, City, Nonprofit, and Special District Employees. Menlo College has an accelerated evening program in Management for working adults. National University offers many degree programs, including an online Master's and Bachelor's degree in Public Administration. Employees can enroll any time and take courses at their own pace. To learn more, contact Reginald San Pablo at (408) 236-1101 or email at rsanpablo@nu.edu.

Notre Dame de Namur University offers a Master's program in Public Administration. It also offers an evening Bachelor's Degree in Human Services which prepares professionals in the profit and nonprofit sectors, including health and human services, mental health organizations, law enforcement, health care, fire safety, emergency personnel, human resources and other government and community advocacy programs. San Francisco State University offers degree programs, which include Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Business and Public Administration.
